Being a nutritionist and a fitness expert, what motivates you write the book “Fat Loss Revolution”? Why did you choose this title?

I was motivated to write Fat Loss Revolution because I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives, and share my passion and knowledge. The amount of information available to the public in mass media is not 100 percent accurate. It has been my experience that the public is only receiving a fragment of the truth, and so many individuals are confused and inundated and rather uninformed on what it takes to experience a disease-free life and prevent obesity.

I chose the title, Fat Loss Revolution, because individuals must absolutely revolutionize their lifestyle to experience permanent fat loss.

The book describes weight loss solutions without dieting or deprivation, could you let us know how and why is this possible?

Most people are undereating and overexercising in order to lose weight only to experience frustration and exhaustion. This backfires and as a result all it accomplishes is a damaged metabolism and hormone disruption.

Fat Loss Revolution focuses on eating real, wholesome, nutrient-rich foods. Calorie counting, deprivation and dieting are not a part of Fat Loss Revolution.

What are the worst trends you currently see in the average American diet that causes obesity and how can this be corrected?

The worst trends are supersized portions, nutritionally-void and chemically-laden fake food, soda pop, and fat-free, low-fat varieties of everything. In addition to diet, so many individuals are sleep deprived, overly stressed out and sit too much.

It can be corrected by staying away from trends, going back to the basics, cooking meals at home and eating out less, avoiding packaged and processed foods, and eating the way our grandparents did.

Do your principles apply to people from all around the world as they might be having other kind of diets and lifestyle?

Yes, the Fat Loss Revolution is applicable and is adaptable to anyone, anywhere in the world. Just because you’re from a different ethnicity and background does not mean that human physiology has changed.

What do you think is the biggest mistake people make when trying to start a weight loss plan?

Some of the biggest mistakes people make when trying to start a weight loss plan is incorporating too much, too soon. Lack of consistency, failure to prioritize values and having the mindset that weight loss equals deprivation versus getting healthy.

Preparation: Set up your environment at work and home to minimize temptation. Remove unhealthy foods from your home and replace with healthier ones so they’re readily available.

People jump from one quick-fix to another versus sticking with something and following through for the long haul. When the focus is on getting healthy and living a healthy lifestyle first and foremost, fat loss will happen naturally.

What are the unique features that make “Fat Loss Revolutions” different from other weight loss books out there and what are the main features that account for your successful results?

FLR is different because it addresses and encompasses all aspects of life-long health, which in essence leads to fat loss, and treats the body as a whole system making it a total body experience and lifestyle.

Any results oriented program that is not a quick fix requires at least 12 weeks of faithful participation and compliance for an individual to experience long-lasting results. For instance, of course you will notice changes within a week or so by avoiding certain inflammatory foods, however reversing years of unhealthy habits, addressing nutrient deficiencies, possible gut pathogens and toxic burdens, chronic low-calorie dieting, a damaged metabolism, re-establishing a healthy gut, and so forth can take longer in the process of experiencing permanent fat loss.

What workouts or physical activities do you suggest that helps in losing weight as a fitness coach and why?

First I must mention that one cannot exercise their way out of a bad diet. With that said, metabolic workouts such as resistance training and interval training utilizing larger muscle groups and shorter rest periods because this optimizes hormone function, expends greater energy and encourages fat loss.

What kind of success have you seen with your dietary recommendations and what scientific support do you have for them?

I have had 100 percent success with clients who have followed my programs and recommendations exactly as I have prescribed them. All one needs to do is look at the references in my book from various reputable clinical and medical journals, and look at the research publicized on PubMed on optimizing the relationships between fat loss and hormones.

From your years of experience as a nutritionist, what do you think are the difficulties faced when trying to lose weight and how does it become easy by following your book?

The difficulties I have found with most individuals is they expect too much too soon, an instant gratification mindset. If they are not seeing drastic changes in 7-14 days they give up.

In Fat Loss Revolution, the 12 week check list makes it easy to follow and stay on track. Also, the Chapter on thoughts, values and mindset is very beneficial in addressing obstacles and providing solutions to move through any challenges one may face throughout the process.

What other benefits should a person expect following the secrets and solutions in your book aside from losing weight?

Long term health and permanent fat loss, healthier looking skin, better sleep, reduced sugar cravings, optimal digestion and normal bowel function, increased life expectancy, and balanced hormones and brain chemistry. Fat loss is a function of a healthy body.

Is the book suitable for everyone?

Yes, it is suitable for everyone.

As there are readers and subscribers who are struggling to lose weight to help them shed the fats, do you have anything specific or advice that you want to say for them?

What works for one individual may not work for another individual. Each person is unique in their biochemistry.

Start with two healthy changes each week until they become a habit. Gradually add more healthy habits. Be willing to invest the time, energy, commitment and resources to succeed.

Value yourself and focus on the positive changes throughout the process and realize that it’s a progressive journey.

Fat Loss starts in the mind. Examine the mindset that elicited the unhealthy behavior in the first place and make a choice to commit and change the behavior.
