Six Essential Oils That May Help Cure Cancer

essential oil for aromatherapyEssential oil is a very concentrated liquid that has been extracted from a plant source. There are hundreds are variations of essential oil. The liquid has historically been used for its healing properties, both mentally and physically. Many people believe that essential oils can help heal the body, calm the mind, and even cleanse the atmosphere inside of homes.

Essential oils are very concentrated, and so cannot be consumed directly in their concentrated form. For some kinds of essential oil, you can dilute them and ingest very small amounts, but most people advise against ever consuming essential oil. Some types are vaporized and inhaled.

Overall, essential oils are often diluted and then applied to the skin. Virtually all varieties of essential oils have antibacterial, antiviral, or anti-fungal properties, so it makes sense that they have been used to treat illness for such a long time. Recently, scientists have been examining the physiological effects of things like essential oils in the laboratory.

Quite a few researchers have found that certain essential oils may be able to prevent or even treat cancer! Unlike chemotherapy, essential oils are natural and do not produce negative side effects when used correctly. Here are six well-known essential oils that have demonstrated anti-cancer properties.

Chamomile essential oil

Chamomile is commonly used to help treat gastrointestinal issues, inflammation, and muscle spasms. Chamomile tea is a popular herbal drink, though chamomile oil can also be applied directly to the skin.

Can Chamomile prevent or treat cancer? Let’s find out…

A study published in the Journal Of Agricultural And Food Chemistry compared the effects of chamomile extract on normal cells versus cancer cells. For the normal cells, it had a very small effect on their growth, but for cancer cells, it had a significant effect.

The chamomile essential oil caused cell death in the cancer cells; it and was able to inhibit cancer growth yet not destroy the surrounding healthy tissue.

Chamomile also contains a flavonoid called apigenin, which is thought to be the reason that it can help treat cancer.

A study published in the Journal Of Cancer Research found that apigenin has a positive effect on stopping the growth of both breast cancer and colorectal cancer cells.

Frankincense essential oil

Frankincense can help treat arthritis, respiratory disease, and general inflammation. It is traditionally used in incense, and the oil can be applied directly to the skin or inhaled from a vaporizer.

A study published in the BMC Complementary And Alternative Medicine Journal found that frankincense essential oil disrupts pancreatic cancer cells and even causes apoptosis, or programmed cell death.

Another study published in the same journal found that frankincense essential oil lowers the viability of bladder cancer cells while not having a negative effect on the surrounding healthy cells.

Researchers at the University of Leicester found that frankincense is effective at killing ovarian cancer cells, likely due to the compound AKBA. AKBA seems to be able to target cancer cells, which is why frankincense essential oil can spare healthy cells while still killing cancer cells.

Oregano essential oil

Oregano increases nutrient absorption, can act as an antibiotic, and helps to heal symptoms of leaky gut. Oregano is a very common spice used for cooking, but it also comes in an essential oil form that is used for healing.

A study published in the Journal Of Medicinal Food found that oregano oil successfully inhibits the growth of cancer cells in both breast and colon tissues.

Another study, published in the Journal Of In Vitro Cellular & Developmental Biology, found that oregano oil limits cancer growth by reducing oxidative stress within the body.

Yet another study, published in the Journal Of Plant Foods For Human Nutrition, found that oregano oil has fantastic bio-protective qualities, including a potential ability to prevent cancer from growing.

One component of oregano is called carvacrol. It is thought that the carvacrol in oregano is what is responsible for causing cell death in cancer cells.

Thyme essential oil

Thyme can help treat arthritis, increase blood circulation, and improve immune system function. Thyme is a common dry spice used for cooking, though it can also be applied directly to the skin.

A study published in the Journal Of Herbal Medicine: Biomolecular And Clinical Aspects found that thyme leaves and isolated components within the leaves had a strong positive effect on liver and colon cancer cells.

Another study published in the Molecules Journal found that thyme essential oil is one of the most effective essential oils at healing prostate, breast, and lung cancers.

Yet another study, published in the International Journal Of Cancer Research And Treatment, found thyme essential oil to be effective at inhibiting the growth of head and neck cancers by regulating various cellular pathways. The researchers determined that the thyme oil extract is toxic to the cancer cells.

Rosemary essential oil

Rosemary can help improve your memory, reduce indigestion, and stimulate hair growth. Rosemary is also a common herb used for both cooking and herbal medicine.

A study published in the International Journal Of Oncology found that rosemary essential oil is effective at reducing the growth of colon cancer cells, likely due to a component called carnosol. They found that carnosol is able to trigger cell death in colon cancer cells.

Another study, published in the Molecules Journal, found that rosemary essential oil is considered toxic to cancer cells. Rosemary is rich in antioxidants, such as rosmarinic acid and caffeic acid.

Antioxidants work to prevent cell damage done by free radicals, and therefore play an important role in preventing diseases, including cancer.

A study published in the Indian Journal Of Experimental Biology found that rosmarinic acid has strong anti-tumor properties and may be able to prevent skin cancer.

Eucalyptus essential oil

Eucalyptus can help reduce fatigue, treat respiratory problems such as asthma, and regulate blood sugar. Eucalyptus is frequently used in cosmetic products, but is used topically for medicinal properties as well.

A study published in the Journal Of Evidence-Based Complementary And Alternative Medicine found that eucalyptus essential oil is toxic to cancer cells and therefore has significant anti-tumor properties.

The researchers believe that the oil triggers apoptosis, or cell death, in the cancer cells.

Another study, published in the Journal Of Cancer Letters, tested the effects of eucalyptus leaf extracts on mice. They found that extracts stopped the growth of skin cancer cells.

Yet another study, published in the Journal Of Phytochemistry, isolated a compound called cladocalol from the eucalyptus plant and found that it has positive effects on leukemia cells.

Different essential oils are applied differently. For example, peppermint can be applied to your stomach for better digestion.

Some of the essential oils can be consume as well.

I urge you to work with somebody who has been trained in the proper and safe use of the oils. Please do not just go buy some without having somebody to guide you. Oils can be applied to the bottom of your feet, tummy, chest, or taken internally. However, not all oils can safely be taken internally. It is best to use a cutting oil like coconut oil with any oil taken by mouth. For some people, oils taken by mouth can cause tummy troubles. The natural health doctor who has helped me has me put the drops of oil in a capsule and top it off with fractionated coconut oil. I can not say that there are no oils you can put right into your mouth, but I think most of them should be in a capsule with coconut or olive oil. Lemon oil is one that can be put in a glass of water. Be sure to check with the company, store, or person you are buying the oils from to make sure the oils are safe to take internally.

How would one take these oils? Separately or together? With or without food? Mixed in water or juice?

You can use the oils together in a diffuser. It does not matter if it is taken separately or together. Take without food is best, and without juice.

I would recommend Young Living essential oils, and you can get it either by as a retail or wholesale customer at https://www.youngliving.com/vo/#/signup/start?sponsorid=3089885&enrollerid=3089885&type=member

It depends on the oils. The doctor who helps me has me put the drops in a capsule and top it off with coconut oil. For me, the oils work best when I can take them internally. I have tried them on the bottom of my feet, but I do not get the same results. I am taking the oils to fight an infection. For other reasons, I might be able to use them on my feet. The doctor told me when putting the oils on the feet, chest, or tummy she has people layer the oils. So, one oil goes on, wait a minute and add another oil. Oftern, she has people add coconut oil when putting the oils on the body. Some of the oils can cause a BURNING sensation if not toned down with coconut oil. I also urge you to work with somebody who knows oils. If you can not find a person, there are good books to help guide you.

My sister has CML leukemia, I am interested in anything that might help her. I have gut and colon problems and sinusitis and breathing problems, I am interested in these oils and how to use them. Thank You

I do not know if we can give email addresses. I have been fighting a sinus infection for 11 years, and my doctor told me that we are running out of antibiotics to try. The natural health doctor who has helped me has me on the oils, and I have been off all antibiotics for nearly 8 months. That is pretty good considering I would be on the antibiotics for 3 months at a time only to have the infection back within days or weeks.

The quick answer is that not all essential oils are created equal, so how you use them can vary. You want to choose 100% therapeutic grade oils. Read labels. I purchase Young Living Essential Oils, and all of them can be ingested, but you probably wouldn’t want to as the taste may not be pleasing, depending on what you mix it with. There are some instances when you might want to use a carrier oil with the essential oil. (i.e., olive oil, coconut oil, etc)

I can tell you that I have had great physical success with my oils. If you’re on Pinterest, you can search on Young Living Essential Oils and you’ll find a ton of information on how to use them. And…go to their website. There’s a lot of info. there too.

I use Lavender all the time for pretty much anything. Peppermint is GREAT for headaches. For example, last week I started seeing an “aura,” and knew a migraine was coming. I used peppermint oil on my temples, forehead and back of neck. Within 10 minutes the aura was gone, and never came back. Oh yeah…I never go the migraine either! It was strange, but awesome the way it worked.

Additionally, one time I put lavender on my son’s thumb when he burned it on the stove. A blister appeared and I continued put Lavender on the blister. It was completely gone without popping it, in four days and I have the pictures to prove it!!

    I hope this helps!

I have a lot of YLEO’s but its just not true that you can ingest all of them. Some are unsafe to ingest and they usually say that on the label or on the website.

    Hello,

I’m no expert, but I’ve been using essential oils now for more than a year to battle cancer and have won!! I used the oils both internally and topically (everything penetrates the skin)
I rubbed the oils over the tumor cites and gently massaged. I also used empty capsules and filled these with whatever oils I was using. Cancer free now, but I still use the oils topically over those cites. They absolutely worked for me!! Among other things that I did.

Hello, can you please let me know things you have tried that you feel have help you fight your cancer – very open to natural/spiritual/traditional methods. My sister has stage 3 ovarian cancer and my brother has progressive MS and the medicine he just tried has a high side effect of cancer. Plus the fact that the rest of us 5 kids all have a chance of getting hereditary cancer as well as our children. I know no guarantees, but trying something to try is better doing nothing.

I really liked the article and I use Young Living E.O. My question is how do you use the oils? I have a brother-in- law who has had bladder cancer and now has some lymph nodes that have come up cancerous. he is experiencing some pain in his lower back. I am wondering if frankincense could help him.

Yes! I agree that the leaves are for healing.
in Ezekiel 47:12 , it says “And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing.”

My husband and I only recommend Young Living essential oils, because of their quality, and you can obtain the oils either as a retail or wholesale customer.

My husband and I have been using essential oils for years. We use them for our at-home pharmacy and first-aid, our pets, for cleaning, for balancing the emotions, for skin and beauty and even cooking! We are health teachers and do weekly classes for free in our area. We freely share videos, slide shows and educational information on using the plants that we have been given, to increase the quality of our lives.
Here is a testimony about using the oils for sleep.

“Since having my second baby I have been really struggling with sleeping well. For the first couple of months he would wake about 2am or 3am for a feed and I wouldn’t be able to get back to sleep again. When he was 2 months old he started sleeping through the night. Lucky me! But not so lucky because I continued to wake up 3 hours after I had gone to bed and couldn’t get back to sleep again. I couldn’t function and my health was falling to pieces. There is nothing more frustrating than being so exhausted yet wired and unable to sleep.

Everything changed when I started using Young Living essential oils. I started with a premium starter kit which contains 11 different oils. The oils that I used at night time during the first week were Peace and Calming, Lavender, Stress Away and Frankincense. I applied them to my body and also diffused them using my diffuser. That first week I went from only getting 1-2 nights of reasonable sleep to getting 5 nights of good sleep. I was impressed. This was a big turning point for me. I was having good nights sleep for MOST of the week.

I think the main thing was that consistent use of the oils even throughout the day made me feel sleepy at the right time. I was no longer getting that tired but wired feeling and slept through the nights (my kids would wake me sometimes but I could get straight back to sleep again)

I then started using an essential oil called Valerian. This is really good for making you drowsy. I had taken herbal sleep remedies in the past that contained valerian but this oil was so much more powerful. You literally only need one drop! Not just any old Valerian, the best quality therapeutic valerian in the world and that makes all the difference.

I just put one drop of Valerian under my tongue. (Only suitable for Young Living oils – other essential oils may be harmful to ingest) and I slept soundly every night from then on. Everything was improving in my life. my mood improved, my health and energy improved and I gained so much confidence.

So I made myself a DIY bedtime rub so I can also use this on my kids feet to help them sleep through the night. I added Lavender and Valerian essential oils to calm and soothe.

Recently I read on the internet, 🙁 can’t recall the site but it did have herbal information,
it said if you put one drop of gingko in the ear

(didn’t say from what source? Maybe a strong tea made from quality gingko tea?)
said it cured tinnitus… from application.
google that on internet, see what (else) you find.
      best to your healing journey

Do you clean your diffuser every day? I’m leary to buy one because I will never be able to keep up with that much maintenance.

Also, if I purchase the starter kit, will it come with detailed instructions on when to diffuse or when to apply? I have specific issues I want to address. Mainly inability to sleep and digestion issues/swelling of abdomen. Took tests and found nothing. Thank you
