With an estimated $28 Billion spent on vitamins each year by American citizens alone, you are probably one who takes vitamin pills. In fact, it is estimated that 40% of Americans consume a vitamin supplement daily.
If you are one who takes vitamin pills, there are a few shocking research recently published that links multivitamins and vitamins with increased risks of death.
What Is Actually Wrong With Vitamins?
1. It Fails to Improve Your Health
A trial was conducted at 134 centers in the US & Canada, which included 1,708 patients, some of whom were put on a high dosage multivitamin, and others on a placebo. This trial has shown that serious adverse events occurred in 15% of the multivitamin users, compared to 12% of those on the placebo. It also proved that the vitamins did absolutely nothing to increase health of the sick patients.
2. Multivitamins Use Is Linked to Increased Death Rates.
A powerful study by Iowa Women’s Health has proven that multivitamins increase death rates. This study concluded with the proven fact that older women who took multivitamins each day were more than 6% likely to die earlier than non-users. Vitamin B, Folic acid, Iron, Magnesium, Zinc and Copper supplement users also resulted in earlier deaths than non-users.
In another study done by Danish researchers and published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, it was found that fat soluble vitamins build up in the liver. This leads to a toxic buildup if use is consistent, and finally an overdose. The Danish looked only at well designed studies, ones that focused on a group taking multivitamins, and then ones taking a placebo or nothing. They amalgamated the results of 68 different trials from around the world. Their studies proved that there was a much higher risk of death of multivitamin consumers. Vitamin A consumption resulted in a mortality rate 16% higher than the placebo, while Vitamin E increased mortality rates by 4%.
The Mayo Clinic (one of the most trusted health sources online) has said that research has shown that using Vitamin E on a prolonged basis can actually increase death rates from all causes by a small amount. Although they don’t reference any particular studies, their authority status on medicine gives their statement high credibility.
Because of the lack of regulation and prescription, multivitamins are viewed as safe by the public. Some consumers have taken more than the recommended dosage because they didn’t need a prescription and assumed that taking more would equal greater benefits. Are you willing to risk your life, for absolutely NOTHING in return?
The big question really is:
Why Would You Take Vitamins In The First Place?
From the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), they states that:
- 9 out of 10 Americans are deficient in potassium.
- 8 out of 10 are deficient in vitamin E.
- 7 out of 10 are deficient in calcium.
- 50% of Americans are deficient in vitamin A, vitamin C, and magnesium.
Based on these statistics, the probability that you are deficient in at least one of these essential vitamin and mineral groups is very high. And that is largely contributed to the diet you consume every day.
Chances are, you really need the nutrients that multivitamins are supposedly trying to do. The only problem now is multivitamins fail in its attempt to boost your health.
See, by definition, a vitamin doesn’t have to be natural – it can actually be produced in a test tube.
However if you think about it, what happens when you eat food that is prepackaged and made in huge factories?
Those prepackaged foods are all made from flour, wheat and grains that have been dead for a long time. It is common knowledge that this sort of food makes you feel awful if you eat it for too long.
When you eat food that has been dead for a long time – it’s nutritional value is almost wiped to zero. This is what happened with the sailors who got scurvy – they were eating dead food that had almost zero nutritional value.
But there is an alternative…
Rather than taking multivitamin pills, you can get all the necessary nutrients, vitamins and minerals from natural, whole, real superfoods that are ideal for your body.
What is exactly a Superfood?
A superfood is a nutrient-dense food with high concentration of vitamins, minerals and nutrients that is considered to be especially beneficial for health and well-being.
For example, spirulina has 4-6 times more vitamin B-12 than raw beef liver, and 58 times richer in iron than raw spinach.
Taking powerful antioxidants, alkalizing and all natural superfoods packed with nutrients is truly the only way to go when you look at it from a common sense angle.
When you consume these superfoods, your body will be able to absorb the nutrients, minerals and vitamins.
Superfoods like spirulina and chlorella are jam-packed with phytonutrients that can help to detox your body, boost your immune system and improve your overall wellness.
That is why we have formulated a supplement like Energize Greens that contains superfoods like spirulina, chlorella and also over 25 nutritious foods.
